The Guadalupe Park ribbon-cutting ceremony, originally scheduled for noon on Friday, July 17, was postponed to Friday, Aug. 7, due to inclement weather, the City of Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department announced Wednesday.
Additional details will be provided as the new ribbon-cutting date approaches. Guadalupe Park, located at 701 Guadalupe St., has been closed since the July 4, 2025, flood.
The project was funded through a partnership between The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country and National Basketball Association teams across Texas, including the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks.
Newly restored features at the park include a full-size basketball court with lighting, fencing, handrails, public art, iwalk connections, an inclusive playground and four Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible tables, among other amenities.
In addition to the scheduled ribbon-cutting ceremony, children were scheduled to participate in a sports clinic featuring representatives from each NBA team.
