The Lead Live’s Fifth Annual Nonprofit Week starts Aug. 14 with record 64 organizations across six days

The biggest Nonprofit Week in The Lead Live’s history begins Aug. 14 — and this year it runs six days.

Demand for this year’s event was so strong that The Kerr County Lead expanded the broadcast to include Friday, Aug. 14, adding a full first day to what had been a Monday-through-Friday event. Combined with the main week running Aug. 17-21, this year’s Nonprofit Week spans six broadcast days and features 64 Kerr County and regional nonprofits, civic organizations, and community groups — the most in the event’s five-year history.

Last year’s Fourth Annual Nonprofit Week featured more than 40 organizations over five days. This year’s event exceeds that by more than 20 organizations and adds a full extra day of programming.

Thursday’s opening day reflects the breadth of the 2026 lineup: Doyle Community Center, Elevate Adult Education, the Kerr County Stock Show, the Rotary Club of Kerrville, the Youth Symphony, the Tivy High School Golden Girls, Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, and — in perhaps the most unexpected booking of the event — the Kerrville Ghostbusters.

The main week spans every corner of Kerr County nonprofit and civic life. Veterans organizations including Together With Hill Country Veterans, the Hill Country Veterans Center, Veterans Assistance Dogs of Texas, and Gunny’s Warriors are on the schedule. Arts and cultural institutions include the Symphony of the Hills, Playhouse 2000, the Hill Country Arts Foundation, and Kerr Creates. Education-focused groups range from the West Kerr Public School Foundation and the Kerrville Public School Foundation to Our Lady of the Hills Regional Catholic High School. Health and human services providers include the Hill Country Crisis Council, Hill Country MHDD Centers, the Dietert Center, and the Salvation Army Kerrville Kroc. Environmental, conservation, and civic groups — among them the Hill Country Alliance, Bird City Kerrville, the Hill Country Master Gardeners, and KerrKonnect — fill out a lineup that also includes the H.E. Butt Foundation, the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, Habitat for Humanity Kerr County, and dozens more.

The broadcast airs live each day on The Kerr County Lead’s Facebook and YouTube pages. Aug. 14 runs from 8 a.m. to noon. The main week, Aug. 17-21, runs from 8 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. daily. All segments are available afterward as video and downloadable audio on thekerrcountylead.com.

The event is fully booked. Organizations still interested in participating can join the waiting list by emailing sarah.stone@kerrcountylead.com.
