KERRVILLE, Texas (KWTX) – Everybody has a different experience — and no two families are coping with the disaster in the same way.
That’s according to Austin Dickson, CEO of the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, who says recovery looks different from person to person.
“Some people are ready to move on. Some people want to remember. Some people want to just get back home and rebuild and want normal life again,” Dickson said. “There’s other people who understand that life will not be the same and are trying to cope with moving forward.”
We’re told donations started coming in the same day disaster struck — July 4th, 2025. Since then, the foundation has raised $150 million from more than 140,000 donors.
