TEXAS — On the cusp of the first anniversary since the Guadalupe River tore through Kerr County, “normal” is not what this community is feeling. However, a new future is starting to take shape.
The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country announced this week that 228 families have received help with temporary housing and finding a new home. Greg Adkins is one of them.
“There is no place I would rather live through a disaster than Kerrville, Texas, because the people are incredible,” Adkins said.
The nonprofit said 130 families have already found a new home through their funding, and 98 more are in the process.
