FSB accepting flood relief donations

First State Bank of Uvalde is accepting flood relief donations for the Texas Bankers Foundation Flood Relief Fund and the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country’s Uvalde County Flood Relief Fund.

Both organizations raised money for Uvalde after the Robb Elementary shooting.

The Texas Bankers Foundation website states it will work to identify the greatest needs and direct aid where it can have the most impact, including smaller and rural communities.

Per its website, the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country’s Uvalde County Flood Relief Fund will provide grants to nonprofit and civic groups for emergency aid, recovery and rebuilding efforts.

The foundation has contributed to community organizations, including area schools and clinics, and numerous scholarships.

Newspaper staff asked foundation staff about timelines and processes, and a spokesman said the foundation plans to hold a press conference next week.

First State Bank vice president and director of marketing/culture/ brand Chance Neutze said donors may give by check, payable to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, at any First State Bank of Uvalde branch. Donate online at tinyurl.com/UvaldeFlood .
