SAN ANTONIO — The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country has launched the Texas Hill Country Flood Relief Fund to support communities affected by recent flooding.
The new fund will serve all 10 counties within the Community Foundation’s service area and expands beyond the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, which was created after last year’s flooding.
Foundation officials said no grants have been distributed from the new fund as they continue assessing damage and identifying the most urgent needs. The organization is working with nonprofit organizations, local officials and community partners throughout the region, and affected households can complete a needs assessment to help guide future grantmaking.
Donations remaining in the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund will continue to be used for their original purpose: supporting recovery efforts in Kerr County.
The Community Foundation serves Bandera, Blanco, Edwards, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Real and Uvalde counties, along with one additional county in its 10-county service area.
Immediate needs are expected to include food, shelter and housing assistance, with cleanup efforts also underway across the region. Donations to the Texas Hill Country Flood Relief Fund are now being accepted to support ongoing recovery efforts.
