Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country Announces Flood Recovery Priorities for Families, Housing and Small Businesses
KERRVILLE, Texas — The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country today announced its flood recovery priorities for communities affected by the July floods, committing $18 million to support emergency financial assistance, case management, housing recovery and small business recovery across the Texas Hill Country.
2026 Flood Recovery System
Recovery from the July 2026 floods will take coordination and sustained investment. The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country is directing charitable resources toward a coordinated recovery system designed to help individuals, families and businesses move from immediate assistance toward long-term recovery.
Our approach is built around a simple principle: the Foundation funds and trusted partners deliver results.
Rather than creating parallel programs or asking flood survivors to navigate recovery alone, we invest in experienced organizations with the expertise and infrastructure to deliver assistance across the region.
In the weeks following a disaster, families often need help before insurance, government programs or longer-term recovery resources are available.
The Community Foundation has invested in Emergency Financial Assistance (EFA) delivered through trusted nonprofit partners serving flood-affected communities.
Our partners work directly with residents to assess documented needs and provide flexible assistance for temporary housing, essential household expenses, transportation, building materials, lost income and other immediate recovery costs.

Our partners bring experience in small business lending, grantmaking and financial assessment to manage applications, verify eligibility and distribute assistance directly to qualifying businesses.
